Previously published by The Hill, New York’s mayoral primary delivered a progressive upset, party upheaval—and a political drama still far from its final act
His virulent anti Israel stand translates to escalating anti Semitism. If such becomes the norm, the Jewish community will suffer even more. Such needed to be expressed
Bravo Mr. Israel, was this part of your job application to CNN? Your writing as if your readers keep their heads in the sand. No mention of Zohran's antisemitism / communist vision for NYC .... soon to come to Long Island ???? Any thoughts on that Mr. Israel?????
I live in Mamdani's district and I think this is a very rosy view of what happened. I personally think he ran on being an antisemite and it worked because antisemitism is very popular. He was quick to blame Israel on 10/8/25, marched in Astoria on 10/13/25 to "Flood Astoria for Gaza." He showed up to a photo op to yell and scream when Mahmoud Khalil was detained, who spent the last two years preventing Jewish students from going to class at Columbia.
This is one of the 3 bills he sponsored https://nyassembly.gov/leg/?term=2025&bn=A06101. "Establishes the "Not on our dime!: Ending New York funding of Israeli settler violence act" to prohibit not-for-profit corporations from engaging in unauthorized support of Israeli settlement activity; allows for recovery of a civil penalty by the state attorney general; creates a private right of action for violations."
Every shitty influencer on Instagram posted pictures with him to their millions of followers, including "Jewish" ones.
He's not an actual socialist, he's a trust fund kid who failed at being a rapper and ran for state assembly and won because no one paid attention. Most of the "Progressives" nowadays are the same (see, e.g., AOC, Sanders, Warren). He won because antisemitism is popular among people who graduated from elite schools in the last 15 years where they were indoctrinated to hate Israel (by people like Mamdani's own father at Columbia).
If he wins there is truly no hope for NYC. He won't build coalitions because he doesn't have to. Enough people are indoctrinated in the AOC style of yelling but doing nothing positive and he will be more of the same, but he'll march in the streets with the globalize the intifada crowd.
Most people are closer to the center and aren't represented by anyone and will continue to not be represented by our mayor.

Repugnant? Indeed! Does that mean you support the ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing in Israel? A rogue, terrorist state. So disappointed, Steve.
Zohran Mamdani is the Canary in the Coal Mine:
